OUR TEAM

Meet our talented team of instructors at Champion Dance & Cheer.  Our pupils are taught by specialist coaches and benefit from their expertise and enthusiasm. Focused on teaching exceptional technique and creating unforgettable experiences, our team is committed to our athletes enjoyment and success.
Our staff are fully qualified, first aid qualified, PVG members to provide a safe learning environment.  We are also fully insured.  Champion Dance & Cheer Allstars are members of Sportcheer Scotland, United States Allstar Federation (USASF) and the International Allstar Federation (IASF).  All our Cheer staff are credentialed to level appropriate standards for the teams they are coaching with the USASF (United States Allstar Federation) and or the ICU (International Cheer Union)
Our staff are all home grown at CDC and have been raised in our team culture and morale.  We are super proud of the coaches and choreographers they have became under our instruction at CDC.

LISA TAUSNEY

Lisa, is the founder and program director of CDC.  Lisa is responsible for the overall running of all classes and competitive teams she has the main input in choreography and techniques taught. Lisa has an HND in Dance and has been in the Cheerleading industry for over 25 years.  Lisa started her career as an NFL Europe Cheerleader for the Scottish Claymores and is now the president of the national governing body, SportCheer Scotland.
Lisa has extensive experience as a judge, educator and choreographer for major events, film, TV and theatre as well as allstar programs throughout europe.

Lisa Was recently shortlisted for the Coach of the Year 2022 by the Womens Sports Alliance.

STACY GREER
COMPETITION MANAGER/ DANCE COACH

Stacy has been dancing for 28 years and has  been a member of Champion Dance and Cheer for 17 years. Stacy represented Scotland at the Cheer and Dance Worlds for 10 years and is an original member of Team Scotland.  Stacy has also coached Team Scotland for 5 years and is now a member of the SportCheer Scotland Board of Directors.  Stacy lead Scotland’s National Team to the top ten between the years of 2019 - 2022 at the ICU World Championships in Florida. Stacy also coached our youth team who became the first ever junior team from the UK to attend USASF worlds in which they placed in the top 10 In 2019.  In 2022 Stacy coached our Senior Black team gaining them 1st in the World. Stacy is a qualified cheer judge and have judged and instructed camps throughout the UK.

Stacy has recently set up her own events company ENERGY EVENTS after assisting with the administration of ACDC cheer events for many years. Stacy is the former Education Director for Sportcheer Scotland as well as the only ICU Black medallion cheer examiner in Scotland.

ROBYN BLACK
COACH

Robyhas been part CDC for 16 years and has also trained separately in gymnastics and Hip Hop. Robyn has competed at USASF Worlds three times and also was a flyer in the first junior Team Scotland Cheer Team.   Robyn has been awarded many street dance titles such as Scottish, British and even World UDO Street Dance Champion and now can add USASF Pom World Champion.  Robyn coached the Senior Hip Hop Team Scotland National Team for the first time last year and placed top 10 in the World. Since we started our pro dance team at CDC Robyn has  been working  professionally on a regular basis. In the last year Robyn has danced in several TV Shows, movies/films and professional stage productions.

BETHANY LENNOX
COACH

Bethany has been dancing since the age of 2 and training in Allstar Dance for 8 years, Bethany continues to Dance and Cheer at CDC.  Bethany trained at dance college for 3 years and now has a diploma in Dance.  Bethany has taught in primary schools, nurseries and also other dance schools.

Bethany was part of our open coed pom team, Senior Black that won our first ever gold globe at USASF Worlds last year.

Bethany has coached Team Scotland Hip Hop for the last two seasons and has also been an athlete on the Team scotland Jazz, Pom and Hip Hop

"I have achieved so much since joining CDC, it has turned me into the person I am today and I couldn’t ask for a better dance family.  I am forever grateful.

SCOTT MCCORMACK
COACH

Scott has been involved in gymnastics for 13 years and is a World Cup 2016 Champion. Scott was the Scottish Champion for 6 years and has been ranked 6th in Britain. Scott have been part of team GB as well as Robert Hamiltons performance troupe and has e been crowned Scottish gymnast of the year. Scott has been training to coach cheer at CDC and was the Team Scotland 2019 gym coach.  "My interest in the Cheer World has really grown since first getting involved in our team over 6 years ago.i am now a renowned  tumble coach in the cheer industry.  My successful venture Tumble Elite  provides monthly training for elite athletes"

MICHELLE LAVERTY
COACH/RECEPTIONIST


Michelle has been part of CDC for 20 years and started coaching 13 years ago. Michelle competed in the first ever Team Scotland Junior Cheer team in 2008 at the Cheerleading Worlds and has since competed at USASF Dance Worlds with Senior Black seven.  Michelle has also represented Scotland competing at The  ICU World Championships five times. Michelle has been the captain of Senior Black  since 2018 and is a very much respected part of the team. Michelle was also nominated Senior pom captain for 2019 Team Scotland which was a massive honour.

In 2022 Michelle became a world champion and was awarded the Steve Walls award for veteran of the year by the Team Scotland coaches and committee for the 2018-2019 season! Michelle has since went onto coach Team Scotland Senior Pom 2022 & 2023.

'Through cheer I’ve been able to take part in professional pantomines, TV appearances and also the new Indiana Jones film.  I've also performed at various events like Scottish Cup finals.   I am honoured to pass on what I have learned from these experiences to the athletes I teach.  Cheerleading and CDC are a huge part of both myself and my families life & I absolute adore the sport"

JADE WHITELAW
COACH

Jade has been participating in allstar cheer and dance since 2000 and has been a part of CDC for 11 years. Jade started assistant coaching in 2017 before coaching her first team in 2019.  Jades favourite style of dance is pom and she was a member of Senior Black for 10 years, competing at USASF dance worlds for the past 6 years. Jade represented Scotland at the ICU worlds 5 times and was chosen to be part of the first national unified Team Scotland Pom team in 2018 followed by 2019 and 2020. During the 2020 season Jade was a member of the first adaptive abilities Pom team and won a Gold at the Cheerleading World Championship, she was also voted vice captain of adaptive abilities and nominated for the Steve Walls veteran of the year award which was a huge honour. “Dance and cheer is a huge part of my life and I am so grateful for my CDC family and the amazing opportunities I have had with my team!”

Eilidh has a vast experience in all styles of dance throughout her life and has been cheering since she was a young child.  She has been involved in Cheer since 2004.  Eilidh has competed at Worlds 6 times.  Eilidh assisted coaching Junior Team Scotland Pom in 2016 before taking on a co coaching job with the team in 2017 and 2018 helped them successfully place 5th in the world.  Eilidh has recently upgraded her Cheer qualifications and has worked on our level approriate skill guides for CDC.

CAITLIN CUNNINGHAM
COACH

Caitlin is one of our longest standing members at CDC. Joining almost 21 years ago and coaching since 2018.  Throughout her time at CDC Caitlin has gained a vast amount of experience from competing, coaching and assisting in class. Caitlin has been  part of our successful worlds teams including our first hip hop team to attend worlds in 2016 .

ALLANA HENRY 
COACH

Heading 1

Allana Studied dance at Anniesland college and Gained HND in Dance. After graduating she went on to travel the world performing professionally in Dubai, Bahrain, Romania, Germany, Ibiza Spain and across the U.K. And Ireland. Credits include supporting the world famous One Direction, Olly Murrs, David Hasslehoff and Rylan Clarke.   Allana also has credentialed in level 1 and 2 USASF CHEER as well as Hip Hop. Previously competing at the world USAs dance championships in Florida USA from 2006-2016, Allana then choreographed Team Scotland Hip Hop for 3 years and earned a 4th place in 2019.  Allana is now a Permanent hip hop and commercial coach and choreographer at Champion Dance and Cheer.
Throughout her cheer career she has been a professional cheerleader/dancer for the rockettes NBL Team and also for ACDC Pro dance performing at Celtic, Rangers and for the SFA at cup finals.

AMY SCOTT 

COACH

Amy began her training at The Dance School of Scotland on the Musical Theatre Course. She was the first recipient of the International Fellowship Award travelling to Sydney, Australia to study at the Macdonald College of Performing Arts. She then gained a place at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London where she completed a BA Hons in Performing Arts (Musical Theatre).

Theatre credits include; The Francie & Josie Sketchbook (Scottish Tour), Dixie Whittington (A Play, A Pie and A Pint - Oran Mor), “Nailed It!” (Edinburgh Fringe), Tosca! The Henchman’s Tale (A Play, A Pie and A Pint, Oran Mor) Still Game Live 2! Bon Voyage (The Hydro, Glasgow) “Cross Fit” and "Christ on a Bike" created by Chris Wilson, Voodoo Rooms, Edinburgh Fringe 2015/16/17, Sharon in "Wag! The Musical" at the Charing Cross Theatre, London. Sybil in Noel Coward's "Private Lives" on board the Adonia for P&O Cruises. Other shows on board include  "Smokey Joes Cafe", "Tuxedo Junction", "Reel to Reel", "Songs from 88 Notes" and "West End West Side" working alongside Carole Todd, Jerry Robinson and Anthony Williams. She has also appeared as a Sensational Sister of Soul in 2 UK tours of "The Blues Brothers Party", Miss Sherman in "Fame" at the George Square Theatre, Edinburgh Fringe 2010, Leela and Omar the Poet for Tara Arts and as a soloist in Beyond the Barricade. 

 

Television and commercial work include Erica Smith in "Stacey Stone" directed by Allison Peebles, BBC. Adverts for The AA "Tales from the Roadside", Bet 365 bingo, dir Martin Wedderburn and Co-op "Doing the right thing" dir Peter Cattaneo. 

 

Amy has also appeared in several pantomimes throughout the UK, roles include Alice Fitzwarren in  Dick Whittington for Imagine Theatre at Eden Court, Inverness and The Palace Theatre, Kilmarnock. Princess Betty in “Sleeping Betty” at The Tron, Glasgow. Mrs Darling and Magical Mermaid in “Peter Pan”, Churchill Theatre, Bromley for UK Productions.

 

Choreography and creative work include; choreographer for musicals Chicago, Fame, Rock of Ages, Rent and Ghost at The Glasgow Academy. Choreographer RBS ident (directed by Michael Hines). Musical Theatre Practitioner at Jazz Art, The Janice Marshall School of Dance and guest teacher at UKTS (now iNTER). Choreographer and Dance Leader at Govan High (on behalf of PEEK Project). Workshops and audition panel for the Musical Theatre Course at The Dance School of Scotland.  Currently Dance and Drama teacher at Stagecoach Glasgow (Newton Mearns, Kirkintilloch, Milngavie) LAMDA prep and Musical Theatre leader at The Glasgow Academy Prep (Milngavie) and Dance Leader for DanceSing UK.
