WHO WE ARE
Champion Dance & Cheer otherwise known as CDC Allstars are about to embark on our 22nd season. Over the years we have had thousands of young people train with us and we are proud of each and every one of them. One of the best aspects of being part of a team is learning the important life lessons of teamwork, discipline, dedication, commitment, perseverance and resilience that we have proudly watched our athletes utilise over the last 20 years.
At CDC we pride ourselves in offering a safe, inclusive environment to learn dance, gymnastics and cheer skills.
We have a place for everyone within our team whether you want to learn for fitness, have fun, meet new friends or you want to excel in our competitive teams. Our team environment nurtures friendships and bonds that is not often found in solo sports and we pride ourselves in helping to build kind, strong and successful human beings
We are very proud to be Scottish and European National Champions in both Allstar Cheer and Dance. We specialise in Allstar Cheerleading, Pom, Jazz, lyrical and Hip-hop. We also provide gymnastics, ballet, stretch, Musical Theatre and various other dance styles.
CDC compete both nationally and internationally in the most elite level of cheer and dance. As well as competitive teams we also run fun recreational classes, that do not involve competition work. Both recreational and competitive cheerleaders & dancers have the option to perform in theatre productions, Gala Days, charity events, football games, photo shoots, TV appearances etc.
Although we do have a large competitive program. Our recreational classes (non-competitive) are very important to us we are very keen to provide a non-competitive environment where children can take part in gymnastics, dance and cheer in a fun environment with no pressure.
We are regularly asked to provide dancers and cheerleaders for different TV opportunities, some of the productions we have been part of include Anika, The Riverside Show BBCs Take a Bow, Weakest Link, Chewin the Fat, Yo Diary, High School Musical 2 promotion for Odeon Cinemas Nationwide and Disney channel The Scottish football Cup Final, Celtic Player of the Year. The senior squad also made it to the semi-finals after 3 tough rounds of auditions on Britain’s got Talent with 3 yes’s from all 3 judges. We recently filmed with the BBC for National Handstand Day and were also asked to provide some of the children for the junior ensemble in the Pantomime at the Kings Theatre, Glasgow. One of our highlights over the last few years was working on a major Disney movie this summer.
Our program has been instrumental in the creation of the national cheer and dance teams, Team Scotland and we are proud to have many members of our staff also on the Team Scotland faculty. CDC athletes are given the opportunity each season to try out for Team Scotland. This is a super exciting prospect for athletes who with to take their training further with Cheerleading becoming an official Olympic sport this year.
Our main goal at CDC is to offer a fun place to grow our love of cheer and dance to everyone who wants to be involved in our sport at any level.
